STUDIES

Rosa Peris is PhD Doctor in Fine Arts (Polytechnic University of Valencia-UPV 2015). She focused her thesis in the expressivity of movement in animation. She did part of her PhD at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM), at Germany, where she studied animation with the artist Raimund Krumme (2011).


TRAJECTORY

Rosa Peris (Valencia, Spain, 1984) is draughtswoman, filmmaker and animation producer. She has got several awards, among others the Fontevraud Abbey Award in the Project Competition at the Festival Internacional de Cinema d’Animation d’Annecy, that gave her the Residency of Animation Scriptwriting at the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud (France, 2012).

Her film “Tututú” (2019) was an official candidate for the 2022 Goya Awards from the Spanish Academy of
Cinematographic Arts and Sciences; and her last film as co-producer “Citerea” (2021) was nominated for the 2022 Berlanga Awards of the Valencian Audiovisual Academy. Also, Her films has been awarded and screened in several film festivals, among others: Hiroshima International Animation Festival, AniFest-Czech Republic, Monstra-Lisbon Animated Film Festival, ALCINE-Alcalá de Henares Film Festival, Zinebi-International Fest of Documentary and Short Film of Bilbao, AniMazSpot (California) and Acquedolci Independent Film Festival.

While making her animations, Rosa Peris has continued to develop her career as a visual artist, as she has never left her great love aside: drawing and painting. She has participated in exhibitions at the Wellcome Trust in London, at the San Vicente Martir Catholic University of Valencia, at the Cultural Center of l’Ouest Royal Abbey of Fontevraud, Josep Renau Exhibition Hall of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Ciutat Vella Exhibition Hall of Valencia City Council, among other places. Her latest drawing exhibition, Places and dreams: a journey with the imagination (Jarafuel, August 2022), a joint exhibition with Mercedes Peris, received more than 400 visitors in 15 days.
